About Pink Oyster Mushrooms
Fresh pink oyster mushrooms grown in Bangalore, India without use of chemicals. These are delicious, extremely nutritious, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan.
These mushrooms are packed with antioxidants. They are low in calories and have no cholesterol. They are rich in protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. These are rich in beta-glucans that aid in supporting one’s immune system. These also work as prebiotics as they are rich in polysaccharides which are non-digestible compounds that stimulate the growth of ‘good bacteria’ in the microbiota.
Their taste is often compared to bacon and makes a great meat-substitute. They are not only healthy but are gentle on the environment making them a sustainable source of food and an excellent replacement to meat.
Cooking Suggestion: They can be used in any cuisine- Indian, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Chinese and so on.
You may give the mushrooms a quick rinse. The entire mushroom-cap and stem is edible. Cut the mushrooms into bite sized pieces. Cook them in butter on medium to high heat. They lose their pink color after cooking and turn golden. Cook till they are crispy. Add salt and pepper to taste. These can then be had as is or added as topping to egg, bread, pasta, noodles, sandwiches and almost any dish.
Storage and shelf life: These are best consumed fresh. We suggest consuming them within a week of harvest. To extend the shelf life, store in the refrigerator. However, while keeping cool, if you keep the container it is stored in dry, the mushrooms will last longer. Wipe the excess moisture in your container.
Delivery Timeline: We usually deliver the mushrooms very fresh within a few hours of harvest. In case there is no harvest on the day we receive the order, we supply the mushrooms on the day the next harvest is scheduled. We are closed on Sundays, so no deliveries are done on Sundays.
