About Green Apron's Umami Seasoning
Introducing our Umami Seasoning, the secret ingredient to elevate your home cooking. With our umami seasoning, you will discover a whole new world of flavours.
It's an innovative natural flavor enhancer, tested and perfected over time. It's a favourite among local chefs, who've lovingly dubbed it 'The Umami Bomb'.
This seasoning can elevate soup stocks, stir-fries, and stews. Use it to add a punch to pizzas, salads, noodles, sandwiches, wraps, and even salad dressings.
Our Umami Seasoning is a medley of flavors, featuring a variety of dried mushrooms (Shiitake, Elm Oyster, King Oyster, Pink Oyster, Pioppino), dried seaweed, bamboo shoots, leek, celery, raw mango, garlic, sesame seeds, mace, turmeric leaves, red chili, black pepper, and rock salt.
To make a rich broth, simply add half a tablespoon of the seasoning to two cups of water. Boil it and then let it simmer until it reduces to one cup. This flavorful broth can be used in a myriad of ways, adding a unique taste to your culinary creations.
Here are a few recipe ideas that would benefit from the addition of your Umami Seasoning:
1. Umami Mushroom Soup:
Sauté chopped onions and garlic in oil of your choice, until translucent.
Add a variety of fresh mushrooms and cook until browned.
Stir in a tablespoon of Umami Seasoning, then add water.
Simmer for 15-20 minutes, then puree if desired.
Finish with a swirl of cream or a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
2. Umami Roasted Vegetables:
Toss an assortment of chopped vegetables, in olive oil and a generous sprinkle of Umami Seasoning.
Roast at 180°C until golden and crispy.
3. Umami Stir-Fry:
Stir-fry your choice of protein (like tofu) and set aside.
In the same pan, stir-fry a mix of your favorite vegetables (like bell peppers, peas, and broccoli).
Add the cooked protein back to the pan, sprinkle with Umami Seasoning, and toss to combine.
4. Umami Fried Rice:
In a pan, sauté chopped garlic, diced onions, and a variety of vegetables like peas, carrots, and bell peppers.
Add cooked rice, then sprinkle with Umami Seasoning and stir to combine.
Finish with a splash of soy sauce and a handful of chopped green onions.
